My secret that has nothing to do with parenting
Post written by: beagooddad
I’ve been keeping a secret from you the last several weeks. And, no. Nobody that I know is pregnant.
I applied for and was accepted to be the author of a new blog in the b5media network. For those of you that don’t know, it is a collection of blogs covering a wide variety of topics. My new blog will be in the Family & Relationships section.
The new blog is called Career And Kids. Over there, I’ll be talking about being a full time working parent focusing on both the time at work and the time at home and how to balance between the two.
What does that mean for this blog? Nothing much will change. This blog will still be mainly about my family and how I try to be a good dad. This blog will be much more personal, I’d imagine.
The Career And Kids blog will probably focus on things happening in the world that influence how parents are perceived in the workplace and how full time workers handle being at home. It will have personal elements about me and aspects of my career, but probably much less personal information about my kids.
I’m sure both blogs will evolve over the next few weeks until they settle into a happy equilibrium. If you are looking for other parenting resources, check out the sidebar of Career and Kids. There is a subsection of the b5media blogs called Family & Relationships with several of those blogs focusing on various parts of raising families. Stop by and check them out.

Congratulations! I know you’ll do a great job over there! The b5media bloggers seem like a really great group of people. I was actually approached to take over one of their sites but I didn’t think I could blog 6 times a week. I can barely keep up now!
Good luck!

A good choice on Hsien’s part, I’d say.
Welcome!
Kailani: Bummer. It would have been fun to have you there!

Thanks everybody.
I wonder how long until I accidentally post something from over there her or vice versa. Fortunately, they are similar enough to where nobody will notice. Let’s just hope I don’t accidentally post something from my Hawkeye blog in the wrong spot.

Now you can easily keep track of ALL the blogs I actually try to do anything with. They are listed in the right sidebar.

You mean you’re not pregnant?! /me disappointed haha
Seriously, welcome to b5! We loved having you comment on our blogs before and am glad to have you join the team.
As for mixing up the blogs, I’ve done that many times already. Can you imagine a post about the genetics of some disease on Play Library?!?!

Congratulations, Mike! I’ve been wondering about some of these blog networks, too. I would be willing to start a new blog to join one, but not relinquish control over my current one, though. Good luck with the new blog!
