Number 1 in Google for Be A Good Dad
Post written by: beagooddad
Most Google vanity searches for my name are not very useful because my name is way too popular.
My sister pointed out the other day that I am number 1 in Google for the phrase Be A Good Dad. I am number 4 for Good Dad.
Good stuff. If only actually being a good dad were so easy.
Which of your own vanity search results that you are impressed with? If you found me through a search engine, do you remember what you were searching for at the time?
Have you found yourself Googling your kid’s teachers, friend’s parents, the bus driver, and soccer coach to see if they have ever been in trouble?

Congrats on the top ranking, very cool.
I found your blog by doing a google search for something like “how to be a good dad blog”. So far it seems like I found what I was looking for.
My own blog contains a few references to coaching soccer for my son’s and daughter’s soccer teams and I’m amazed at how many people have read things I’ve written after doing a search for “how to coach soccer for 5 year olds”. I’m certainly no expert on the subject and I hope they’re finding more informative posts than mine out on the web.
I can’t mention the other google search that delivers lots of people to my blog but it contains the keywords “sexy pirate” and it finds a post that I wrote a while ago when one of the kids on my daughter’s soccer team suggested we call ourselves that name. Lots of people looking for naughty pages and probably being disappointed by cutesy parent story.
I’ve not yet searched for a teacher or other parent’s name but I have used the Meagan’s Law database for California to look for any predatory individuals in our neighborhood. That’s a fairly scary list to find yourself reading.

Usually I’m pretty hard core about SEO. My freelance site is usually in the top 5 for MSN and Yahoo and on the first page for Google with the keyword phrase “Denver Freelance Writer”.
But I just haven’t had time to tweak that stuff for HowAboutTwo.com. Hell, I’m lucky I’ve been able to get the URL done.
