Waiting for Christmas is so hard

Geetle has a seriously strong desire for today to be Christmas. She tells us every day that “It is so hard to wait for Christmas.” She wants baby dolls for Christmas. Not just any baby dolls, she wants twin baby dolls that she saw at Kohl’s…or maybe the twin baby dolls she saw at Target…or maybe the twin baby dolls…you get the idea.

She is really big into her baby dolls right now. She has about seven of them. She sets up a bed on the floor next to her bed and covers them up every night. One of them goes with us whenever we go anywhere in the car. They all have names…which just happen to be Kate (as in Baby Kate from Arthur), even if they are a boy.

She normally does not ask for stuff as consistently as she has been for these babies. Some of it is that we are telling her that she should put it on her Christmas list. It is somewhat crazy to be talking about that this early in the year, but it really is not our fault. Christmas is everywhere.

I’m think we should just move Thanksgiving to a little less Holiday filled time of year. It always gets hosed with our ever expanding Christmas season. Or we should just change the country’s name to the United States of Christmas and celebrate all year.

My daughter is the same way about Christmas. She asked me the other day if it was Christmas yet. It’s so sweet yet so exhausting at times.

She’s not into dolls so much as she is into asking for EVERYTHING! Can’t tell reality versus fantasy yet, so she is often disappointed when I explain to her why we can’t just go visit Handy Manny or some other character.

ROFL – US of Xmas – good one! So true though – it’s tough! My 4 year old grabs my face or arm at every commercial to show me how he wants that…. Although on Holidays today he asked me if it could be Halloween again…LOL

oddly enough, all my early childhood baby dolls had the same name too. Karen. don’t know why. but I got more creative in naming them when I was about 4. but the ones named Karen kept their names.

Just be glad she just wants generic twin dolls, not a cabbage patch kid or tickle me elmo or furby in their times… shudder…

Moonablaze: Karen is a good name. I can see why your dolls had that name. LOL

I’m sure the stores would like there to be a year long Christmas thing going on. Afterall, that is why they put the stuff out earlier and earlier each year.
