Getting used to the school routine

I think I might be the person having the biggest trouble getting used to the new school routine this year. I have been working from home since the middle of summer and had gotten used to the chaos of the kids bouncing around the house. During breaks, I was able to tickle kids or talk to them or help them get a glass of milk.

Now the house is very quiet most of the day. Especially with both Geetle and Pookie in all day school this year. Giggles does her best to make up for their noise but she just doesn’t weigh enough to shake the house as much when she jumps.

I always try to get upstairs when they come home and check their backpacks and ask them how school was. They get home between 2:30 and 3:00 and I normally work until 3:30 so the last half hour or so is very loud and chaotic but right now the only thing I can hear is my keyboard and the ticking of the clock in our office.

For the record, BAGM has several highjack-my-blog posts still scheduled over the next few days. She’s promised that if I start writing more regularly she’ll give me my blog back.

Your pop-in opportunities remind me of how nice it was for my own kids to have a dad who could pop-in for them. Thanks Love MOM
