Preventing your kids from doing what they really want to do

I sat Pookie on the toilet tonight before bed and used the new, fancy, potty training technique that we have been using to keep him on the toilet for at least 60 seconds.

After that, he climbed in the tub and almost immediately preceeded to pee. Pretty typical.

Then after washing him, I gave him the toy watering can to play with while I washed Geetle.

He filled it and poured water onto his hand a couple of times. Then, he started drinking the water…the water he had just peed in.

There was much protesting, but I stood my ground.

At least it wasn’t one of those “do as I say, not as I do” moments.

Ah, how familiar. We’ve even tried calling the bathwater ‘icky butt water’, but our son still can’t stop putting it in his mouth. Of course, he doesn’t pee in the water anymore.

Usually.

So glad to know other parents are experiencing this. With your first sometimes you wonder if it’s just your kid! LOL
