Sounds at the dinner table
Post written by: beagooddad
My kids are cute. And they say funny things.
Last night, Geetle, how should I say this, farted at the dinner table.
We looked around and jokingly said, “What was that? Is there a duck in the house?”
That’s an old joke that she used to think was pretty funny. Last night she took it to a whole new level of cuteness.
She said, “That was just a song.”
Pretty cute. But, then she surprised even Beagoodmom and me by taking it to the next level.
She said with a smile, “A poop song.”
Seriously, your kids can’t top that.

Well, I’m not sure I can top it but let me add our family’s contribution. In our house we use the word “poo” for that bodily function. The other day a visitor used the word “poopie” and the kids picked up on it. The nearly-3-year-old was wandering around the house saying “poopie” over and over until my wife told her that “we say poo and we don’t need to talk about it unless you have a dirty diaper”.
Thereafter the 3-year-old wandered around the house saying “poo, good word. poopie, not good word” over and over for hours at a time. I think if you recite the line a few times you’ll see how much fun it can be.

I’m cracking up at the idea of choir tryouts in school…

Aw the joys of kids. I love it. My son calls them “Poo Tinkers” which, thankfully, no one but we understand as he points it out everywhere we go. The Poop Song reminds me of the joke that the stinker is just the horn giving a heads up that a terd is coming through - too gross probably to have repeated but “funny ’cause it’s true!”

I wonder what age exactly it becomes taboo to talk about poop in public.
That doesn’t sound quite right. What I meant to say is I wonder what age exactly it becomes taboo to talk in public about poop.
