The snow did not start until Midnight, so the kids were excited to see it when they woke up. Sure enough, school was cancelled and the Snow Day was official.
We started the morning with every kid’s dream…we woke up, put our snow pants on over our pajamas and ran out into the snow to check it out. (If this sounds weird to you, note that we were not the first ones out in our neighborhood. The neighbor boys were already laying on their backs under a tree at 7am.).
We stomped around a bit, tried our hand at snow shoveling, tried to make a 12 inch tall snow man, etc.
Then we went inside for an appropriate breakfast, waffles and hot chocolate. As is beagoodfamily custom, we put sprinkles in the hot chocolate and used way too much syrup on our waffles.
We were off to a good start.
