After the bath, we sat down at the kitchen table for a project. My mom used to be a grade school teacher and she has given me several art project books. They are great to have around, because most of the projects just call for paper, scissors and glue. We always have those on hand.

Today we made reindeer cards to hold our letters to Santa. This project calls for:

  • construction paper (brown, tan, white, blue and red)
  • glue
  • a piece of notebook paper and scissors

You take the brown paper, cut into a rectangle about 6 x 12 inches. Fold it in half to be 6 x6 inches, crease at the top. This is the reindeer head.

Cut the bottom of the rectangle into a point, this is the reindeer’s nose.

Cut the tan paper into antlers, glue to the back of the reindeer head.

Cut a red nose, white/blue eyes and brown ears and glue all to reindeer’s head.

Here’s a couple photos of what it looks like in action.
Letter To SantaLetter For Santa
Pookie’s card says,
Dear Santa Clause Mouse,
I want Christmas.
I want a toy.
I want Christmas tree.

Geetle’s card says,
Dear Santa,
Merry Christmas.
I want twin babies, and a lot of baby stuff.
I will see you on Christmas.
And that’s all.

When done, open the card and cut the notebook paper to fit inside the card. Write your letter to Santa on this paper. My kids love to glue, so this was a great project.
