Our kids like funny hats and masks, so this was a good craft for them.

To make a Santa Claus mask you will need:

  • 1 cheap white paper plate
  • red construction paper
  • pink construction paper
  • cotton balls or fiberfill
  • glue

Then follow these steps:

  • Cut the center out of the plate, leaving just the 1 1/2 inch rim.
  • Cut a red triangle for a hat, glue to the top of the plate rim.
  • Glue a puffed-up cotton ball or some fiberfill on the bottom and top of the hat.
  • Puff up some more cotton balls and make a beard, glue on to the bottom of the plate rim. Arrange the beard so that some of the cotton is sticking out past the plate rim, on top and bottom. More on the bottom than the top.
  • Cut one 1 inch red circle, this is Santa’s nose.
  • Cut two 1 inch pink circles, these are Santa’s rosy cheeks.
  • Glue the nose and cheeks on top of the beard in the appropriate places.
