There is a tip over at parent hacks suggesting that noodle soups can be a good substitute for soups.
Maybe the post is geared towards kids younger than mine but that parent hack would not fly in my house.
Pookie loves spaghetti and frequently is heard saying “I love it, I love it, I love it, I do.” He also really digs macaroni and cheese.
Geetle LOVES macaroni and cheese and enjoys clean spaghetti. Clean spaghetti is spaghetti without spaghetti sauce on it, of course.
But, neither one of them will eat any of the canned noodle soups under any circumstances.
I’d like to claim that my kids must be culturally superior to most, but I watched them eat ice cream with chocolate sauce last night and nobody with plans of attending the opera at any point in their life gets anywhere near that much chocolate on their face.

Ha, I read that over there as well and all I could think about was when I tried to give Lil Duck one of those gerber chicken stew things that you heat up in the microwave – he carefully picked out all the veggies and chicken and proceeded to eat only the little pasta-os
. He likes spaghetti and mac n cheese also, it’s just the chunky veggies and meats that he generally doesn’t eat.
Now, if *I* am eating one of those chunky chicken noodle soups or something, I can usually get him to eat some of the pasta/broth off of my spoon (sometimes sneaking in a small bit of chicken or carrot hidden behind the piece of pasta) but not enough to really count for anything.
Gunslinger – my nephew – is a big fan of nuu-ees (noodles) and won’t accept anything less than real noodles. Preferably with some sloppy sauce on it, thank you very much.
