My grandma stopped by with my parents for a few minutes last night. She brought presents for us and the kids. We are going to see her on Monday, but she wanted to let the kids open the presents when they were not going to be busy with all the other presents that they will get on Christmas day.

When my dad and I brought the presents in from the car, Geetle nearly popped with excitement. She tore into the presents and needed to start playing immediately. We were just getting ready to coach Pookie into opening his presents when he started talking about the “box” and opened his two presents.

Once they were opened, he wanted inside the boxes and then played with the toys for quite a while this evening. Fortunately, my grandparents are awesome about making sure the toys actually have batteries in them before wrapping them.

Geetle got an Easy Bake Oven and made a cake for all of us.

I think we are officially ready for Christmas. For us, it starts today with my wife’s family.
