New Christmas Memories

Everything went excellently this weekend. Everybody enjoyed all the presents. Everybody enjoyed all the food. The kids slept in late this morning.

Despite all the normal types of Christmas memories, there were two things that really stood out for me.

Geetle

Early at my parents we were watching a Veggie Tales video and Geetle started singing one of the songs like a loud crazy fool. Later, when more relatives showed up, my dad wanted her to sing it for everybody. I wasn’t sure how she would react, but I took her into the TV room and let her sit on my lap. She sang it loud and crazy again in front of everybody. Classic ham.

Pookie

When saying goodbye at my in-laws’ party, Pookie did a good job of saying goodbye to everybody with virtually no help from us. When we left my parents’ party, the door is in a more open space. Pookie walked around saying goodbye to everybody all by himself and even kissed everybody on their cheek. Just because he’s could.

Simple stuff, but probably things that I will remember for years to come.

Very touching entry.

I am sorry to hear you’re leaving Career and Kids behind. I really enjoyed working with you (albeit in a we’ve never met in RL kind of way). Luckily, I will still be checking in here whenever I can.
