Beagooddad thought that it would be a good idea to chronicle a typical weekend’s menu at our house. So, here’s what the kids ate Friday -Sunday:

Friday:
Breakfast: Waffles with Syrup, Milk, multitvitamin
Morning Snack, none because we eat lunch early on school days.
Lunch: Chicken Quesadillas, Milk, Gingerbread cake.
Afternoon Snack: Bread and Butter
Dinner: Vegetable Stir Fry and Rice, grapes, Milk

At lunch Geetle separated her quesadilla into bites of tortilla and bites of chicken, but she ate it. At dinner, she discovered that she likes plain white rice and ate several pieces of broccoli. This was a good day for her. Pookie ate his quesadilla only after telling me it was “pizza” (OK buddy, whatever gets you through the night.). The gingerbread cake was especially popular. At dinner Pookie melted and would not even try the casserole in exchange for more gingerbread.

Saturday:
Breakfast: Corn Chex, Milk and Yogurt, multivitamin
Morning Snack: nothing, knowing the feeding frenzy we would be having later
Lunch: Milk, Macaroni & Cheese, hotdogs, ice cream at Aunt Shel’s
Afternoon Snack: Apples and Milk
Dinner: “Colorful Kielbasa” (a rice, kielbasa, mushroom, green pea casserole), Milk and grapes
Great day to be a kid…up until dinner. We at lunch with Aunt Shel and had kid (and Beagooddad) favorites. At dinner, Geetle tried to eat the rice, remembering that she liked it on Friday, but it was coated with creamy sauce and she couldn’t do it. Pookie ate grapes for dinner, not willing to believe us that kielbasa is like hot dogs.

Sunday:
Breakfast : Milk and Corn Chex, multivitamin
Morning Snack: Water and a giant carrot.
After Church Snack: Peanut Butter cookie from the Church Bakeshop
Lunch: Boboli wheat crust pizza with Italian Sausage and green peppers, Milk
Afternoon Snack: Milk and Banana Bread
Dinner: Singapore Rice Noodle and BBQ Spareribs, Chinese takeout, Milk

Pookie ate it all, surprising us with his new-found love of Singapore Noodles, especially the shrimp. Geetle did not like the giant carrot so much, she is used to the bite sized ones. At lunch, the pizza was also hard for her because she did not want any sauce or cheese on hers. And at dinner, she did not even try anything. But today was just not her best menu. She did much better on other days.
