Pookie is doing a Doctor’s Office/Health theme at school. He comes home with little songs about germs and picture books on how to wash his hands. One of his art projects was especially interesting to Geetle and she insisted that we re-do it at home the day after he brought it home.

The first part of the project was a coloring page with a simple outline of a suitcase (The Doctor’s Bag). Instead of coloring it, you glue first aid supplies inside. We found cotton balls, Q-tips, band-aids and wooden popsicle sticks to use. This was fun, but her favorite was the second part. After you have assembled the doctor’s bag, you need a patient.

The second page has a simple outline of a teddy bear. As the doctor, you have to ask him how he is feeling and put a real band-aid on each of his boo-boos. Geetle’s bear had 6 boo-boos and she had a great time fixing him up. It was a cute project and I think she enjoyed being in charge of the band-aids, as she has always accused me of being stingy with them.
