A lesson on judging others by appearance

Everybody knows that it is bad to judge people by their appearance.  The richest man at the car dealership might be wearing tattered jeans and a t-shirt that says “Who farted?”  Most young men walking around town at night have no plans of mugging you.

We know this stuff but sometimes we forget in the heat of the moment.

This happened with BeAGoodMom and me the other day.  One of our big, scary, creepy, new friends was with one of our smaller, gentle, timid friends.  The lighting was bad and let’s face it, any time there is a skull involved it is tough to not be a little suspicious.  BeAGoodmom didn’t really get a good look but sent me an email notifying me that their was a killer in our house.  I let my fears and unknown suspicions of this new friend cloud my judgment and assumed the worst.

Well good news folks.  BeAGoodMom and I were wrong.  It really was just a slumber party.

Our friend is innocent of all charges.  We should have known all along.  Crabby Patty might look meaner than snot, but she doesn’t even eat meat.  Everybody is safe and sound.

And the next time somebody walks up to me with their eyes attached to little poles sticking out of the top of their heads, maybe I won’t cross the street in fear.
