Way back in the prehistoric age…last August, I started this blog with a post called “Who I am and what I’m doing here.” Did you ever read it? If you’re not my wife or mother-in-law, I don’t believe you if you said yes.
Hardly anybody read this blog back then as compared to the handful (or am I up to hands and feetful yet?). The post makes me cringe. Was I really thinking about starting a forum? Insanity.
Anyway, I bring this all up because of a 1st post that I found on another blog yesterday. Go read this post over at Growing Up With The Kids. Get in on the ground floor of a new blog. Be one of the first commentors. Say hi and tell him to make sure he writes post #2. Beg him to leave Blogger as soon as possible. (They may be my own personal bias speaking).
I’ll offer a couple of tips, switch to a theme that is easier to read. Make it easier to find the comment button. (Hint: if you hit Ctrl-A or whatever your method is of selecting all, it will make it easier to find the hidden Post A Comment Link). Use a much smaller photo as your header image.

I only started blogging to get a free download copy of TreoAlarm. Who knew I’d still be here a year later!
That is truly an inspiring story. I think you definitely need to write a post about how the free download somehow got you started in blogging.
Thanks for the reference and the suggestions. I updated the template so its easier to read. I don’t know how to change the size of the comment bar. I am still trying to learn about blogging and html. I have a confession to make, I am using blogger because it allows adsense. I really want to be a stay at home dad and I’m trying many different ways to start an income from home. I would use Wordpress,com, but it doesn’t allow adsens on the free sites and I haven’t made enough money yet to justify purchasing a domain name for wordpress.org. I will be certain to switch if traffic starts coming in.
