We attended a birthday party Friday morning for our little friend E. She was turning 2. E’s mom threw a very nice party and I wanted to share her ideas.
E just learned to ride on a little bike. E is lucky enough to live 2 blocks from a park as well. So, E’s mom invited us all over for a parade to the park. We brought our bikes (some of the littler ones pushed toy strollers or shopping carts) and E’s mom gave us streamers and stickers to decorate them. Then we rode 2 blocks to the park while she carried a CD player with marching music. We got a lot of waves from the passing cars in the neighborhood.
Once at the park, we played and then had a picnic lunch. We had a great time.
It was not until we left that I realized that E did not open her presents at the park, she must have opened them after we left. It was nice to have a party that was not all about the presents and cake. The kids loved it, especially the streamers. I was told (by Geetle) that I was not allowed to take the streamers off of her bike when we got home. They were “important” to her.
