We have a lot of toys, many of which have little parts. I am always trying to keep the parts together. There’s no sense having a Mr. Potato Head if you cannot find the facial features.
Lately, I have been buying plain plastic shoe boxes for the toys. Simple enough. But I may have went a bit far this time. I made Pookie a container for his stacking ice cream cone game. The game has a plastic cone and 10 scoops of differently colored ice cream that you stack on top. The container I found is one of those cardboard tubes used as a gift box for a bottle of wine. Mamaw was getting rid of it and I snatched it up…because I am obsessed with containers. But, I had no idea what I would do with it; crayons, maybe, I thought.
Then it dawned on me…Stacking Ice Cream Cone! The perfect shape! Pookie is OK with it and he seems happy that all the pieces are there every time he wants to play with it. It is also teaching him that everything has a place; I took a picture of the toy and taped it to the outside of the tube so he knows what goes inside. Most importantly, he looks cute carrying around his wine box.

We are all obcessed with containers….or maybe you just came on the obsession from your maternal side…no …can’t be…. because some others who are also obsessed don’t fit into that catagory…maybe it is George Bush’s fault…you know plastic is made of oil and the more oil we use…. the more money his family makes…so maybe we better drive to the container store to get more containers. I wonder if there is any significance that there has not been a container store built anywhere near me so I have to both drive a long way to buy the plastic. Sounds like another conspiracy theory to me. Love MOM
Amesome Mom and I gave up on little containers. Now we by those giant green or blue storage bins and dump everything in. About $5-7 each at Wal-mart/Target/K-mart. Let the little buggers figure it out. (Insert haughty LOL here)
By the way, I think it’s all Hurricane Katrina’s fault.
