Two things all dad’s should do before the baby is born

The list of all the things a dad should do before the baby is born would fill several books. Earlier today I realized that their are two things that I did when we were pregnant with Geetle and Pookie. One of them I have not yet done for Taco Supreme. The other I have, but I’m really looking forward to doing it again at the end of the month.
Read to the baby - There are few things that make you really stop to realize that you are about to have a baby more than actually talking to the baby. Sitting down to talk to somebody while they are still in somebody else’s belly can be awkward unless you have something to say. Books can be that prompt. I read several books to Geetle and Pookie before they were even born including Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. We have very different taste in books so we actually dumped a few in the middle, like The Wizard of Oz. I normally read about a chapter a night and BeAGoodMom usually was awake for about half of that. I need to find a book and start reading to Taco Supreme ASAP.
Listen to the heart beat. We were constantly going to checkups the first time we were pregnant. Twins do have some perks. My job at the time gave me a ton of flexibility to attend those appointments so I heard their heartbeats all the time. So far with this pregnancy, I have heard the heartbeat twice; once at our last appointment with the fertility doctor and once at the first appointment with the real doctor. Seeing the ultrasound is nice and really amazing but actually hearing that heartbeat pretty much stops time. We have another appointment at the end of the month complete with ultrasound and the old listening to the heartbeat. I guarantee I’ll be inspired to write about it afterward.
Those are the two big ones that have really been on my mind the last couple days. What are your big things that you like/liked to do before the baby was born?

I used to play music for them. I hoped it would make them like my kind of music. That didn’t work. But they do like music a lot, and my oldest has started writing songs.

every time I see you refer to the baby as taco supreme I have to laugh. a word of warning though, once you pick a real name, use it often or else the little one will continue to be called taco for the rest of his/her life!
