The Parlin-Ingersoll Public Library in Canton, IL is starting a once a week for six weeks story reading program for preschoolers . During the 30 to 45 minute sessions, children will hear children’s books, learn songs, do crafts, and play games.  The theme will be nutritious food.

Cool program.  But, not a unique program.  I bet your local library does something similar.  We have taken Geetle and Pookie to a couple sessions of an almost identical program at our local library.  They loved it.  It’s free.  They get to learn how to sit still for stories as well as interact with other kids.  If you stay in the room, you will learn some new stories and songs.

Geetle still sings “I’m a little tea pot,” which was one of the songs they learned in the class.

Most libraries have a lot of different programs for kids.  Most of the programs are free.  They are only free because your tax dollars support them.  You might as well use these programs when you can.
