I wanted to find a way to simplify the process I went through each week picking recipes, planning menus and making shopping lists. I found 25 or so recipes that I considered to be our favorites and grouped them into weekly menus “Weeks A-F”. Then I made a shopping list for each weekly menu and clipped it to the corresponding group of recipes. For example, this is Week B:

Grocery list B

I made several copies of these sheets (for each corresponding week) and clipped them to the actual recipes (which are all print-offs from the computer or things I tore out of magazines, in my case). I write the extra things we need on the spaces below. If I want to try new recipes one week I can, but I always have the menus and lists from “Weeks A-F” to fall back on if there is no time to get organized that week. Its nice to have these in my back pocket, so that I am not wandering aimlessly through the grocery store trying to decide on the spot what we are going to eat all week. It really saves time.
