The other day my wife and I were trying to have a conversation in the kitchen (not at a meal time). Geetle kept trying to butt in to the conversation and wouldn’t give up. She came up with new topics every couple of minutes. Since R and I were talking about what we had done at work, Geetle was talking about work, too. I told her that she needed to go to her office for a few minutes so that mom and I could talk.

She asked where her office was. So I made her one. Out of masking tape. I made a square outline around her chair at the dinner table and left an opening for a door. She loved it and refused to sit anywhere but there for meals which is unfortunate because it happened to be Mom’s seat.

Pookie came wandering over looking for some entertainment. So I made a road out of the masking tape. One big giant loop through the kitchen, dining room, family room, entry way and hall back to the kitchen. About every three feet I made the road do big zig-zags. He picked up a car immediately and started driving on the road. Geetle joined in. There were some horrible collisions when the traffic went in opposite directions. Stuborn children drivers.

The road lasted for a little over a week before it had to be removed. What do you expect from non-union laborers?

Good cheap fun that lasted for quite a while and can be recreated at any time. You should give it a try.
