One year of BeAGoodDad
Post written by: beagooddad
A year ago today, I started this blog not really knowing exactly what I planned to do with it. I have written a fair number of posts and still ask myself daily what I want to do with it. But, I have enjoyed sharing stories of our family and thoughts I have on how to be a good father. I decided to go back through all of my post and highlight some of my favorites over the past year. I really wish more of them were from the last couple months instead of the first couple, but I guess that should help point me in the right direction for this next year.
Family
- Late to work for a good cause
- Children uniting against parents
- Post potty training
- Papa is one popular grandpa
- Preventing your kids from doing what they really want to do
- Don’t be embarrassed for being a parent
- Things your kids should not do at the library
- New crazy game that we will only play once
- Picking the battles that don’t matter
Pregnancy
IVF
Autism
- Raising children - With or without autism
- One simple word
- Love them the same but treat them differently
Teaching kids how to do stuff
- Moving from crazy play to calm play - Complete with working example
- Why dads should read to their children
- What to remember when putting your kid to sleep
- Learning how to read
- 5 reasons to teach toddlers sign language
School
Politics
- The only way to pledge allegiance in the land of the free
- A moment of random unanswered questions
- The cost of the war in Iraq
Other oddities
- People are strange around the world
- If we bought our children from iTunes
- My half birthday
- Letter to a stupid driver that needs to see some jail time
- Can I survive in the wheel well of a 747 (This one was written by BeAGoodMom and she really wishes she had saved it for her own blog)
Thanks to all of you who have stuck around since the beginning and for all of you that have joined along the way. I would probably write these posts anyway, but it is nice to know there are some people out there reading them, sharing their experiences, and even challenging my thoughts when I say something they disagree with.

Congratulations. The information you share here about your experiences with Autism surely has helped a lot of people, and is written in such a way to educate those who aren’t dealing with Autism. Keep up the good work!
