I’m not sure if I had a dream about it or am just bored waiting for our baby but the other day I was thinking about TacoSupreme and happened to visualize myself burping her.
Then I remembered that I discovered something that really helped me when Geetle and Pookie were that age. I little parenting tip if you will.
So, I went scouring the internet for a couple minutes to see if somebody had already written about it and used nice pretty pictures but found nothing. Sure there are plenty of articles about burping a baby but none of them mention my magic tip.
I normally burp a baby by setting the baby on my left shoulder. I rub or pat the baby’s back with my right hand. My natural tendency when I started was to pat on the baby’s right shoulder because my hand just happened to line up comfortably there.
I happened to take an Anatomy and Physiology class right around the time the kids were born and learned that the stomach is mostly on the left side. Since that is where all the gas is trapped, I decided that it might be better to focus my attention right on that area.
And it worked like magic. So, the magic burping a baby parenting tip of the day is to rub or pat the baby’s back on the baby’s left side about halfway between her shoulders and hips.
I have nothing to help with spitups besides telling you to find a good sturdy towel to place over your shoulder.

Yes, I could never figure out why kind people would give you these dinky little embroidered cloths – I always needed a bath towel draped down my back!
Cheers
Any towel with little holes in it isn’t really a towel if you ask me. Those are blankets for dolls.
I could have done with this tip a few months ago. Luckily my youngest is now happily burping on his own.
