I took the kids to the Apple Orchard this weekend with their cousins, aunts, uncle, and Grandma V. It was approximately 1000 degrees and we had a great time.  Click on the read more thing below to see all of the pictures.

First we rode the hay ride out to the apple picking area:

Then we picked the apples:

Who new apple picking was so dangerous?

Next we picked the pumpkins that I had to immediately carry about 1000 miles to put in the car:

Next we played in the play area:

Then, and this was Pookie’s favorite part and the only part he went out of his way to ask for, they rode the train:

And, you can’t leave without a ride on the Merry-Go-Round:

Pookie prefers riding in the sleighs instead of the horses:

On the ride home, I let them pick out whatever they wanted at the gas station. Geetle wanted Cheetos and Bug Juice (some kind of crazy Kool Aid). Pookie wanted Cheetos and a big water. After a small sip, Geetle realized that she doesn’t like Bug Juice but I had picked up an extra water just in case.

The kids did a great job, we all had a blast, and BeAGoodMom got to do some important snoozing back at the house.

Oh that looks like so much fun. We loved the PYO veggie patch. The kids have such a great time!

We had so many vegetables and no big freezer. Now we have the freezer so next year canning- perhaps?
We have a box of apples coming to help sponsor a local school.

Sounds like you guys had a great time! One of our local churches supposedly is having a Pumpkin Patch this year, and it opens on Monday, so we will probably take the kids. I’ll try to get some pics.

It was a lot of fun. I was dreading it a little because it was sooo hot, but the heat really didn’t end up bothering us very much.

A PYO veggie patch would be a lot of fun, too. The kids would love actually pulling stuff out of the ground, I think.
