Night time feedings

Our baby (still not nicknamed) normally eats around 10pm (we at least give her a small bottle even if it isn’t time). Then she eats again around 2am and 6am. So we are really looking at one for sure night time feeding and sometimes the second one will be closer to 5am which I still count as a night time feeding.

What a great baby!

We almost don’t know what to do with all of this unexpected time. Geetle and Pookie started off eating every 2 hours and we both woke up for each feeding so that we could get them both done as quickly as possible.

With half as many kids and twice as long between feedings that’s only 1/4 of the night time feedings that we are used to. Awesome!

We decided the other night that we are going to alternate nights (which went absolutely horrible when we tried it with Geetle and Pookie).

I’m probably going to do two nights and then BeAGoodMom will do one. Part of the reason is that I tend to need less sleep than BeAGoodMom and right now in particular, she needs more sleep to help her recover.

The other reason is that I don’t get to spend nearly as much time with the baby at this point. I’m back to working 8 hour days and when I’m done I have to spend time with Geetle and Pookie, eat dinner, help clean up the house, etc. Since BeAGoodMom will not be going back to work for a few weeks, that gives her a lot more time with the baby.

So, while I’m sitting in the baby’s room at 2am, squinting to read the clock and hoping I don’t get spat up on, I’m really just trying to squeeze in some time bonding with my littlest girl.
