I officially turned 33 on Friday. Happy birthday to me. Up until a few weeks ago, I had been telling people that I was 33 and about to turn 34. I must have lost track of my own birthdays somewhere along the way.
On my birthday, I called in sick and worked with my dad tearing out most of our back yard deck. It went from something insane like 30 X 20 to closer to 16 X 12 which fits how we want to use the back yard a lot better. We made a lot of progress but still have a lot of work left.
BeAGoodMom and I took the kids out to dinner, then to see the new Horton Hears A Who movie, and then for ice cream. Can’t complain about any of that. For the record, I loved Horton and so did the kids.
On Saturday, I went to a movie (Doomsday) by myself after dinner. It is a fun movie as long as you are expecting a Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome type of thing. I was, so I had fun. Pookie stayed out until nearly 10pm going to the Monster Truck show (one of his birthday presents from Aunt Kel).
On Sunday, we went to Wisconsin for my nephew’s birthday party. We will celebrate all of the March adult birthdays (3 of them) next weekend. During the party, Giggles needed a nap so I got to go to a quiet room and let her sleep on my nap. None of the kids ever spent much time sleeping on us so that was pretty cool.
All in all, a very busy, very fun birthday weekend that made me feel like I was 34 by the end of it all.
