Good site, thanks.

My wife and I now have 2 IVF kids, one from the original retrieval and one 2 years later, from the freezer (I call her our totsicle).

We have never had trouble letting people know how they came about. It has even helped a few people we know who are considering kids later in life.

Would it have been more fun with a bottle of wine and a few candles? Sure, but that's not how it came about.

We have nothing to be embarassed about. We have 2 great kids ... who are now screaming for attention ...

thanks again

This is such an amazing story and an inspiration. My husband and I struggled with infertility and we were blessed with 2 successful IVFs. One amazing daugther and another baby on the way. I always wanted that surprise pregnancy without medical assistance...such a miracle!!

This is such a lovely story. I am so happy you and your wife were able to have children.

I have endometriosis and had thought I was probably infertile. I went through a great deal of soul-searching before deciding not to have fertility treatment. Then I got pregnant completely naturally. I was much more surprised than I should have been and was reeling for eight weeks. We were trying to keep it a secret until three months but eventually almost everyone guessed. I started showing at six weeks and this was a single pregnancy! (He is still a big lad). I also had terrible morning sickness and looked visibly ill, so I had to explain to some people what the matter was.

I told my brother on his birthday, which was exactly 3 months into the pregnancy. We called the baby after him too.

If I had another baby I would try to hold out until the 3 month mark again. But I think in many cases people do guess a long time before! I suspect a friend of mine is pregnant but I'm going to wait until she says something first...
