451 Press is looking for bloggers.
Sounds interesting and I am pursuing a couple similar type of opportunities. This one caught my attention in a bad way, though.
The opportunity sounds just fine and they are just starting out so you could be an early adopter at a company that catches on and becomes the next big thing.
No. The thing that Beagooddad noticed that tweaked me was that Parenting is a subset of Women’s Interests.
Stuff like that still pisses me off from time to time. So does walking into the bathroom at stores and not having a changing table in the men’s room.
Maybe I’m just sensitive, but come on world. Parenting is not a Women’s Interest. Parenting is a People Interest. If I’m not allowed to say he to refer to a gender unknown made up imaginary person, than I want parenting to quit being a Women’s Interest subset.
451 Press, you might want to change your classification of parenting. There are a ton of good dad bloggers out there. I may not be one of them, but they are out there.

You are right on the money. We talked about the classifications / categories quite a bit and while the topics in Women’s interest are clearly not just women’s interests we didn’t have a broader category yet. The problem with picking one single cateogory is that most things in this world fit into more than one catgegory. We’ll be tweaking how we do that as we figure things out a bit more and probably going to more of a tag system than categories.
We very much appreciate the input too. And the link!

You are welcome for the link. I’m just picking on our society’s tendancy to group family with women.
As for the classification thing, you could take Style and Fashion and move it to Consumer/Shopping since shoes and t-shirts and bags are already in their.
Then you could take what is left in Women’s Interests and rename it Family Interest or Family Issues. Then you would have relationships and dating which lead to marriage (sometimes) and then to kids (sometimes).
Good luck with your venture. Make us rooting for the blog networks proud.

I hate it when there is no changing table in the mens room. That means I have to change all the diapers! UGH!
Thanks for the idea on my post about apples. I never thought about letting them use pumpkin knives. Hope your sauce was good!

[...] After my last post, you know I’m offended, right? After all, men being discriminated against and all. [...]

Great suggestion on the category naming. We tried a few different variations on how to rename them and for some reason it kept escaping us. An outsider perspective is always a good idea. I’ll be tweaking the categories with your input.
Thanks again!

Cool. Now if I could just get the stores to get a little more cooperative.
Good luck.

BeAGoodDad,
this is a serious subject. As a father of three, with the nickname, Dadman, you can believe this is upsetting to me, too.
My wife shares the parenting duties with me, even though certain things are done more by one than the other, and certain children prefer one parent over the other. It is still an equal share of duties when all is said and done.
You know the time blogging takes as a fellow blogger. Well, my wife goes for walks with her girlfriends while my blogging is performed (http://www.squibkick.com/). It is still expected of me to take care of the children during this time. This is the modern era and men are an equal share of the parenting role!
